Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli are living the dream. After a beautiful wedding in Tuscany, and a dreamy honeymoon in Finland, the couple is back in the country for their wedding reception parties. Yes, there are two – one in Delhi and the other in Mumbai. And the Delhi reception is already underway. Post a secret wedding and honeymoon, the couple seems completely at ease with the presence of the media, as this time around they chose to make them a part of their celebrations.
The couple arrived at a stage that was specially set for them and obliged the photographers. They posed for a lot of pictures for the shutterbugs and the love between them is evident. Virat and Anushka both looked every part the newlywed desi couple in the pics. They chose to go with Sabyasachi for this event as well. The designer took to Instagram to share details about their looks. We must say that after going with pastels for their wedding, the couple threw us a googly by opting for earthy, Indian colours for the reception. But they did complement each other entirely. However, we couldn’t shake off the feeling that we had seen something like Anushka’s saree only a while ago. A little bit of digging revealed that Deepika had worn a very similar saree for Hema Malini’s book launch. We must say both Anushka and Deepika look like a million bucks in their sarees. Given the fact that Anushka chose it for her special day, is enough to prove how much in love she is with it. Sabyasachi explained it in his post by saying like every Indian bride, Anushka, too, wanted to opt for red for one of the events and she chose it for her first reception. Also since it is a Benarasi weave, it also serves as an impetus to the dwindling industry of weavers. So while Anushka must have chosen the saree because she must have liked it, she is also helping a cause and that makes the saree all the more special.
